RPL Board Expected to Release New Strategic Plan Shortly
In the next few days (after February 23, 2005), The RPL Board will be releasing its new long term strategic plan. We expect that the plan will detail the direction the RPL will be taking in the coming years with regard to facilities, programs, and funding. When the plan is released we will post a link to the document on this web site so stay tuned.
Public Meeting to Discuss the New RPL Strategic Plan—March 8, 2005
On March 8 the RPL Board will hold a large public meeting to present the plan and invite feedback. Location is to be determined but City Hall Forum is a strong possibility. Watch this page for updates. At the meeting there will be stations around the room showing features of the plan, a formal presentation, a question and answer session, followed by free time for one on one discussion. This is an important meeting and the main opportunity to learn about the plan and respond with your thoughts and suggestions, because the RPL board has to finalize the plan and present it to the City by March 15, 2005.
Public Feedback Opportunities at Your Local Branch
There is a chance that the RPL Board may provide information packages at every branch, along with a way for patrons to provide their thoughts and feedback on the plan. These would appear at branches soon after the plan is released, so keep an eye out for developments at your local branch.
RPL Budget to be Presented April 6
The RPL Board will submit its budget for the coming year to City Council April 6, 2005 at 6:00 pm. At the same time it will submit the finalized Strategic Plan.
