What can I do?
There are many things we can all do.
Send a letter - to the RPL Board and the City of Regina, especially Mayor Pat Fiacco, who is on both boards.
Contact City Council. Remind them that byproviding sufficient funds to the RPL they can prevent the closures of all branch libraries, the Dunlop Art Gallery and the Prairie History Room.
Write to the Premier and his Cabinet Ministers, especially the Minister of Learning who carries the responsibility for libraries. Don't forget the Minister of Culture and Members of the Legislative Assembly. Insist that provincial libraries receive sufficient funds to meet the needs of Saskatchewan communities.
Volunteer. Help us with our needs, there are a variety of opportunities available including(but not limited to): committee members, newsletter editor, fundraising, strategic planning, help at events, contacting organizations and individuals. If you are interested come to one of the monthly meetings. |
